I have a wide variety of experience working with adults, children, couples, and families, dealing with a variety of mental health issues.
Licensed professional counselors (LPCs) provide quality mental health and substance abuse care to millions of Americans. Professional counselors are required to complete one or more internships and coursework in human behavior and development, effective counseling strategies, ethical practice, and other core knowledge areas. (As an LPC I do not prescribe medications.)
LPCs in Alabama are required to complete a master's degree or higher, pass a National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) certification examination, and complete three years of supervised clinical experience. Alabama LPCs must complete 40 hours of continuing education every two years.
